“Mental Health Awareness Month”
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Patterson does hereby recognize healthy communities as a priority; and
WHEREAS, mental health is critical for every person’s well-being as well as that of our families, communities and businesses; and
WHEREAS, increasing public awareness about mental health is vital to prevention and early intervention efforts; and
WHEREAS, prevention strategies, including early recognition of signs of mental health challenges, help to avoid these challenges or reduce the seriousness of the challenges; and WHEREAS, with appropriate treatment and support from family, friends and the community, those suffering from a mental illness can recover; and
WHEREAS, developing strengths and resiliency promotes protective factors that enable and sustain recovery but also can prevent illness; and
WHEREAS, Mental Health Awareness Month is part of a nationwide effort in the month of May to promote a better understanding of mental health and wellness; and WHEREAS, Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, the Stanislaus County Mental Health Board and now the City of Patterson are supporting the month of “May 2022” as
“Mental Health Awareness Month”
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Patterson, County of Stanislaus, State of California does hereby unanimously proclaim “May 2022” as “Mental Health Awareness Month” in the City of Patterson.
