SUBJECT: Approve Request for the Road Closure of Baldwin Road from Sperry Avenue to Azalea Drive from September 26, 2022 to November 4, 2022 to complete Offsite Utility and Road Construction activities required for the Baldwin Ranch Subdivision.
RECOMMENDATION
Motion to Approve Request for the Road Closure of Baldwin Road from Sperry Avenue to Azalea Drive from September 26, 2022 to November 4, 2022 to complete Offsite Utility and Road Construction activities required for the Baldwin Ranch Subdivision.
BACKGROUND
Staff received a request from the contractor for authorization to close Baldwin Road from Sperry Avenue to Azalea Drive from September 26, 2022, to November 4, 2022 to perform the necessary offsite improvements. The road closure is being requested to allow the utility and road construction improvements to be done without the interruption to general public. The full road closure will expedite construction as well as safety to both the contractor and the public. The contractor will be required to provide adequate notification (at least 48 hours in advance) to all of the affected parties prior to this closure. Detour options will be provided to the public with proper signage. The contractor provided a Traffic Detour plan that has been reviewed and approved by the City Engineer. City corporation yard access will be provided though the newly constructed streets in the subdivision.
ANALYSIS
This closure will minimize the overall duration of road closures and the safety of the general public and contractor.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item. All costs are being paid by the developer.
