ITEM NO: 6.12
SUBJECT: Motion to Accept and Appropriate Budget for Grant funds in the amount of $17,900 for upgrading stove in Hammon Senior Center kitchen from the Stanislaus County Area Agency on Aging and authorize the Finance Department to make the necessary budget adjustments for Fiscal Year 2022-23.

RECOMMENDATION
Motion to Accept and Appropriate Budget for Grant funds in the amount of $17,900 for upgrading stove in Hammon Senior Center kitchen from the Stanislaus County Area Agency on Aging and authorize the Finance Department to make the necessary budget adjustments for Fiscal Year 2022-23.

BACKGROUND
On November 8, 2022, the County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution approving the Senior Nutrition Infrastructure Grant Funds for the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) and
authorized the Director of the Department of Aging and Veterans Services, to sign contract NI2223-30 with the California Department of Aging in the amount of $760,004 for the term of October 1, 2022, through October 31,2023, and any subsequent amendments.

The Senior Nutrition Infrastructure Grant provides and emphasizes priority funding for upgrading infrastructure for the production and distribution of congregate or home-delivered meals, including but not limited to production-scale commercial kitchen stoves.

ANALYSIS
Currently, we partner with the AAA for our Senior Lunch Program. They are aware of the aging conditions of our stove and recommended applying for this grant for infrastructure replacement.

The Nutrition Infrastructure Grant proposal submitted has been approved by the County Board of Supervisors.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact from accepting the grant and approving the use of funds. The grant revenue of $17,900 will be appropriated in the City of Patterson FY 2022-23 Budget for eligible costs.
