3 4 APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 2023-40, APPROVING THE STATE DEPARTMENT 5 OF TRANSPORTATION (CALTRANS) MASTER AGREEMENT NO. 10-5244S21 & 6 PROGRAM SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT NO. A193 FOR THE INTERSECTION 7 AT SPERRY AVENUE AND HIGHWAY 33 PROJECT HSIPSL-5244 (042), AND 8 AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NEW MASTER
9 AGREEMENT, THE PROGRAM SUPPLEMENT AGREEMENT AND ALL FUTURE 10 DOCUMENTS FOR THIS PROJECT ON THE CITY’S BEHALF
11 WHEREAS, the City of Patterson has been approved to receive $175,500 of 12 funding through the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) for a new traffic signal 13 at the Intersection at Sperry Avenue and Highway 33. 14 WHEREAS, the new traffic signal is a part of a continuing effort to maintain and 15 improve roadway safety within the City of Patterson ; and 16 WHEREAS, in order to receive funds from Caltrans, the City Council must 17 authorize an official to execute a Master Agreement and a Program Supplemental 18 Agreement. This agreement sets forth the requirements for use of State funds. 19 Caltrans requires that this type of agreement be executed for each project by the 20 agency receiving the funds; and
21 WHEREAS, once the agreement is signed, Caltrans will issue an “Authorization 22 to Proceed” which allows the City to proceed with the work for the project. 23 WHEREAS, this item does not carry any fiscal impacts with it. The total funding 24 for the project is $175,500 Each phase of work will be brought before the Council at a 25 later date with a clear financial breakdown and request for contract approval. 26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of 27 Patterson does hereby:
28 1. Approve the State Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Master Agreement No. 29 10-5244S21 and Program Supplemental Agreement No. A193 for the Intersection 30 at Sperry Avenue and Highway 33 Project.
31 2. Authorizes the City Manager to execute the agreement, conduct all negotiations, 32 execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to applications, 2 1 agreements, reports, insurance, payment requests and so on, which may be 2 necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project on behalf of the City. 3 The foregoing resolution was passed by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 15
