SUBJECT: Adopt Resolution No. 2023-43 to Approve the Application for State of California Outdoor Equity Grant 2nd Round.
RECOMMENDATION
Motion to Adopt Resolution No. 2023-43 to Approve the Application for State of California Outdoor Equity Grant Round 2.
BACKGROUND
In June 2022, Patterson Recreation & Community Services was awarded the State of California, Outdoor Equity Grant for the Patterson Teen Outdoor Experience. Grant amount: $625,141 was awarded for a two-year program to conduct the Patterson Teen Experience for youth residents in Patterson. This grant program includes approximately 40 activity days in the community for Patterson youth and approximately 40 trips to natural areas for participants during two years of programming. The 1st semester of the Grant was a great success with 42 youth participating and semester 2 is underway with 38 youth in attendance.
ANALYSIS
Round 2 of the Outdoor Equity Grant process will be available for application in December 2023.
Therefore, Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution to approve the application for round 2 of the State of California, Outdoor Equity Grant.

There is no fiscal impact.
