A Proclamation of the City Council
of the City of Patterson
Honoring Juliene Flanders
on her Retirement and her Dedicated
10 Years of Service to the City of Patterson
WHEREAS, We would like to honor and express our appreciation to Juliene Flanders for her distinguished career with the City of Patterson as its Director of Recreation and Community Services; and WHEREAS, through her leadership, Juliene has successfully enhanced and expanded various recreation programs for the City’s youth, adults, and seniors; and WHEREAS, Juliene played a pivotal role in raising funds through various grants and community events, most notably Farm to Fork, to fund youth scholarship programs; and WHEREAS, Juliene has served this community with her service on numerous committees, such as the Administrator’s Section Board of California Parks and Recreation Society, the Patterson Tourism Group, the Stanislaus Regional Tourism Group, the Westside Healthcare Task Force, Region 2 State Board Representative for the California Parks and Recreation Society, and the United Patterson Team; and WHEREAS, Juliene was very involved in the development of the City’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan, including working with the design group, and completing the Master Planning for the Community Complex and Centennial Park; and
WHEREAS, during the COVID pandemic, Juliene worked diligently to offer services to the community such as COVID testing, vaccine clinics, community outreach, senior meal distribution, and providing alternative programming; and
WHEREAS, Juliene will retire on September 15, 2023 after 10 years of commendable dedication to the City of Patterson.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Patterson does hereby bestow upon Juliene Flanders
This commendation for the manner in which she has performed her duties with the City of Patterson with special thanks for her professionalism, dedication to service, kindness, and customer service to the staff and community of Patterson.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Micheal Clauzel, Mayor for the City of Patterson, do hereby honor Juliene Flanders on her retirement and hereby express the City’s deepest appreciation for her dedicated service to the City of Patterson.
