A Proclamation of the City Council
of the City of Patterson
Honoring Chief Jeff Gregory
on his Retirement and his Dedicated
20 Years of Service to the City of Patterson
WHEREAS, we would like to honor and express our appreciation to Chief Jeff Gregory for his distinguished career with the City of Patterson as its Fire Chief; and WHEREAS, Chief Gregory provided valuable service as a volunteer for the Patterson Fire Department in various capacities from 1986 to 2003; and WHEREAS, Chief Gregory was appointed to the position of Division Chief with the City of Patterson on May 1, 2003 and was later appointed to the position of Fire Chief on October 16, 2016; and WHEREAS, Chief Gregory also served as Fire Chief to the West Stanislaus County Fire Protection District to ensure fire protection and suppression beyond the City limits; and WHEREAS, Chief Gregory also was instrumental in assisting with the completion of the City’s Public Safety Master Plan to ensure smart growth of our Public Safety systems as our City expands; and WHEREAS, Chief Gregory has devoted his efforts to the best interests and betterment of the community’s health, welfare, and safety; and
WHEREAS, Chief Gregory managed the procurement of a new fire truck, replacing it’s 25-year old year-old truck; as well as attained grant funding to purchase a new rescue boat for use in swift waters, and environmentally friendly electric vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Chief Gregory will retire on October 13, 2023 after 20 years of dedicated service to the City of Patterson.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Patterson does hereby bestow upon Chief Jeff Gregory
this commendation for his contributions and loyalty to the staff and community of the City of Patterson.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Micheal Clauzel, Mayor for the City of Patterson, do hereby honor Jeff Gregory on his retirement and wish him much happiness as he begins this exciting new chapter in his life.
