2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PATTERSON 4 AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF INDIVIDUAL GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR ALL 5 GRANT PROGRAMS FOR WHICH THE CITY OF PATTERSON IS ELIGIBLE 6 7 WHEREAS, Public Resources Code sections 48000 et seq. authorize the Department of 8 Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to administer various grant programs (grants) in 9 furtherance of the State of California’s (state) efforts to reduce, recycle and reuse solid waste 10 generated in the state thereby preserving landfill capacity and protecting public health and safety 11 and the environment; and
12 13 WHEREAS, in furtherance of this authority CalRecycle is required to establish procedures 14 governing the application, awarding, and management of the grants; and 15 16 WHEREAS, CalRecycle grant application procedures require, among other things, an 17 applicant’s governing body to declare by resolution certain authorizations related to the 18 administration of CalRecycle grants.
19 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Patterson 21 authorizes the submittal of applications to CalRecycle for all grants for which the City of Patterson 22 is eligible; and
23 24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager, or their designee, is hereby 25 authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Patterson all grant documents, 26 including but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments and requests for payment, 27 necessary to secure grant funds and implement the approved grant project; and 28 29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these authorizations are effective for five years from 30 the date of adoption.
