SUBJECT: Adopt Resolution No. 2024-23, to Accept and Appropriate the Budget for a Grant Award from the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) for the SB1383 Local Assistance Grant Program in the Amount of $75,000 in FY 2023-24.
RECOMMENDATION
Motion to Adopt Resolution No. 2024-23, to accept and appropriate the Budget for a grant award from the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) for the SB1383 Local Assistance Grant Program in the amount of $75,000 in FY 2023-24.
BACKGROUND
In November 2023, City Staff submitted a grant application to CalRecycle for the SB1383 Local Assistance Grant Program in the amount of $75,000. In February 2024, CalRecycle approved an award for the total amount of $75,000. The state’s grant helps to fund the City’s solid waste, recycling, and environmental programs.
ANALYSIS
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution to accept the grant revenue and approve the modification of the department budget for this purpose.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact to the City General Fund from accepting the grant and approving the use of funds. The grant revenue of $75,000 will be appropriated in the City of Patterson FY 2023-24 Budget, Garbage Fund 600, for eligible costs.
