1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2024-28
2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PATTERSON FOR 4 FUNDING FROM THE URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY GRANT PROGRAM 5 AS PROVIDED THROUGH THE GREENHOUSE GAS REDUCTION FUND. 6 7 WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of California in cooperation with the State 8 Legislature has appropriated General Funds for the state’s urban forestry programs; and 9 10 WHEREAS, the State Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has been delegated 11 the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State, setting up necessary 12 procedures governing application by local agencies and non-profit organizations under the 13 program; and
14 15 WHEREAS, said procedures established by the Department of Forestry and Fire 16 Protection require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of application 17 before submission of said application to the State; and 18 19 WHEREAS, the applicant will enter an agreement with the State of California to carry 20 out an urban forestry project;
21 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of 23 Patterson:
24 25 1. Approved the filing of an application for the Urban and Community Forestry grant 26 program funds; and
27 28 2. Certifies that said applicant has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the 29 project; and
30 31 3. Certifies that funds under the jurisdiction of City of Patterson are available to begin the 32 project; and
33 34 4. Certifies that said applicant will expend grant funds prior to March 31, 2028; and 35 36 5. Appoints the City Manager, or a designee, as agent of the City of Patterson to conduct 37 negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to 38 applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests and so on, which may be 39 necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project. 40 41 The foregoing resolution of the City Council of the City of Patterson was passed by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 21st 42 day of May 2024, by ______________, 43 who moved its adoption, which motion was duly seconded by _______________, and the 44 resolution adopted by the following roll call vote:
