RESOLUTION NO. 2024-27
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PATTERSON
DISSOLVING THE SENIOR CENTER BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION 2023-07
WHEREAS, the Senior Center Board of Directors is an advisory committee to the City Council of the City of Patterson (“City Council”); and
WHEREAS, the Senior Center Board of Directors’ role and responsibilities were last addressed in 2023 through Resolution No. 2023-07; and
WHEREAS, the Senior Center Board of Directors consists of five residents of the City of Patterson (“City”), ages 50 and older, appointed by the City Council in an advisory capacity; and WHEREAS, the City is currently evaluating the best ways to provide community programs and services and increase efficiency in City operations; and WHEREAS, in reviewing the Senior Center Board of Directors role, the City has determined that in the interests of efficiency and to continue operating the Senior Center to provide services to City residents, the Senior Center Board of Directors is no longer necessary; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to dissolve the Senior Center Board of Directors in order to streamline City business and focus its efforts on the creation of a City-wide Senior Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council thanks the current and former members of the Senior Center Board of Directors for their service to the senior citizens of the City of Patterson.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby adopt this resolution to dissolve the Senior Center Board of Directors and rescind Resolution 2023-07.
