SUBJECT: Approve the proposal from Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group for Engineering and Design Services for NP-1B Waterline Improvements and authorize staff to enter into a negotiated Consultant Agreement with a not to exceed cost of $79,500 and authorize the Finance Department to allocate additional funds.
RECOMMENDATION

BACKGROUND
This project adds design services for the NP-1B Waterline Improvements to the existing WM-6B Waterline Replacement and the 9th Street project, as the proposed improvements fall within close proximity to the WM-6B project area. Incorporating this scope into the ongoing project minimizes the future disruptions to the surrounding area, ensures consistency in design standards and streamlines coordination efforts. This project will consist of the installation of a non-potable water main along Las Palmas Avenue from 9th Street to North Park and Veterans Memorial Park, just west of 2nd Street. These improvements will not encroach into Caltrans Right-of-Way on 2nd Street.
ANALYSIS
City of Patterson’s Engineering staff sent out a scope of work to the on-call consultant services to prepare the Engineering and Design Services for the NP-1B Waterline Improvements project.
We received a proposal and estimated fee for it from the following on-call design consultant:
Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group $79,500
FISCAL IMPACT
Staff negotiated with Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group for a final and agreeable scope of work and fee of $79,500. Staff recommend awarding the design to Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group for this amount and authorizing the budget with our standard 10% contingency.
