RECOMMENDATION
Motion to Approve Resolution No. 2025-50, Approving the State Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Program Supplemental Agreement No. F040 for Las Palmas Safety Corridor: from 9th Ave to SR 33 and 6th St to F St Project No. CRPL-5244(049), and Authorize the City Manager to Execute the Agreement and all Future Documents for this Project on the City’s Behalf.
BACKGROUND
The City of Patterson has been approved to receive $194,000 of funding through the Local Carbon Reduction Program for the Las Palmas Safety Corridor: from 9th Ave to SR 33 and 6th St to F St Project No. CRPL-5244(049). This project consists of the design of a safety corridor, replacing and upgrading 35 ADA curb ramps, replacement and infill of 1,400 linear feet of sidewalk, installing a signalized crosswalk, and constructing 0.75 miles of new Class II bicycle lanes. The corridor will serve as a main route for residents with close proximity to three schools, four churches, two StanRTA bus stops, the City of Patterson’s Coumminty Complex, and to the City’s downtown area.
However, in order to receive funds from Caltrans, the City Council must authorize an official to execute a Program Supplemental Agreement. This agreement sets forth the requirements for use of the Federal funds. Caltrans requires that this type of agreement be executed for each project by the agency receiving the funds. Once the agreement is signed, Caltrans will issue an “Authorization to Proceed” which allows the City to proceed with the work for the project.
ANALYSIS
Attached for your review and approval are the Program Supplemental Agreement and the Resolution that will need to be approved by the City Council. If approved, the City Manager would execute the agreement and submit it along with the resolution to Caltrans.
FISCAL IMPACT
This item does not carry any fiscal impacts with it. Each phase of work will be brought before the Council at a later date with a clear financial breakdown and request for contract approval.
