ORDINANCE NO. 884
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PATTERSON AMENDING SECTION 2.48.040, MEETINGS, OF CHAPTER 2.48, ECONOMIC STRATEGIC COMMISSION, OF TITLE 2, ADMINISTRATION AND PERSONNEL,
OF THE PATTERSON MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, chapter 2.48 of the Patterson Municipal Code established the economic strategic commission in the City of Patterson (“City”); and WHEREAS, section 2.48.040 established the economic strategic commission meeting time on the third Thursday of the month beginning at eleven-thirty (11:30) a.m.; and WHEREAS, amending the meeting time from eleven-thirty (11:30) a.m. to a time later in the afternoon will allow more working residents the opportunity to attend and potentially serve on the economic strategic commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the meeting time for the economic strategic commission should be changed to six (6) p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PATTERSON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2.48.040, Meetings, of Chapter 2.48, Economic Strategic Commission, of Title 2, Administration and Personnel, of the Patterson Municipal Code is hereby amended as shown in the following strike through and double underscore text (unchanged text is omitted and is shown by “* * *”):
2.48.040 Meetings.
A. Assuming there are items for the agenda, the commission shall meet at least once every other month. The time and place of the regular meeting of the commission shall be the third Thursday of the month beginning at eleven-thirty a.m. six p.m. in City Hall/city council chambers. In Tthe event said meeting date falls on a legal holiday, the commission shall hold its regular meeting on the next succeeding business day.

SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, subdivision, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or any part thereof, is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion of this ordinance or any part thereof. The City Council hereby declares that it would have passed each section, subsection, subdivision, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more section, subsection, subdivision, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase be declared unconstitutional or invalid.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its final passage and adoption, and publication of the Ordinance shall occur in a newspaper of general circulation at least fifteen (15) days prior to its effective date, or a summary of the Ordinance published in a newspaper of general circulation at least five (5) days prior to adoption and again at least fifteen (15) days prior to its effective date.
The foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a meeting of the City Council of the City of Patterson held on the 16th day of September 2025, by __________, who moved its introduction, which motion being duly seconded by _______________. Said Ordinance was given a second reading at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the ____ day of ________ 202X, and after such reading, ______________ moved its adoption, seconded by ________________, and said Ordinance was thereupon adopted by the following roll call vote:
