By consensus of the Council, all public comment was moved to Agenda Item 5.1.

5. City Staff Reports
5.1. Consider Adopting a Resolution Appointing the Candidate with the Highest Interview Score to Fill the Vacant District B City Council Seat.
Deputy City Attorney Remlinger reviewed his staff report.
At 6:06 p.m. Mayor Clauzel open the item to public comments. There were no comments.
A motion to adopt Resolution No. 2026-55, appointing Chinyere Nadimiah Jack as the candidate with the highest interview score to fill the vacant District B City Council seat for the remainder of the term of office, was made by Councilmember Hernandez and seconded by Councilmember Mora. The motion carried 3-0.
Following adoption of the resolution, City Clerk Alegre administered the Oath of Office to Councilmember Jack, whose appointment took effect immediately upon completion of the oath.

There being no further business, the special meeting of the City Council of the City of Patterson of August 13, 2026 was adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
