1. CALL TO ORDER: 5:00 P.M.
Mayor Vargas called the Special City Council meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL:
Present: Rogers, Nava, Corona, Rabb, Vargas
Staff Members Present: City Manager Miramontes, Assistant City Manager Bugtai, Deputy City Manager Reyna, City Attorney Khuu, Interim City Engineer Pourkazemi, Director of Development Services Phung, Director of Administrative Services Amozgar, Assistant City Clerk Haughney and City Clerk Salazar.
3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Councilmember Rogers led the Pledge of Allegiance.
4. BUSINESS ITEM:

Planning Commission Appointment
This item was introduced by Director of Development Services Kenneth Phung and turned over to Planning Manager Patricia Brenes for the presentation. Planning Manager Brenes noted that there were 2 seats to be considered for appointment.
City Clerk Salazar called on applicant Gamaliel Allen to speak.
The following Councilmember's had questions for the applicant:
Corona
Nava
Vargas
City Clerk Salazar called on applicant Demetris Campbell to speak.
The following Councilmember's had questions for the applicant:

Vargas
City Clerk Salazar called on applicant Dwayne Hammond to speak.
The following Councilmember had questions for the applicant:

Councilmember Rabb left the City Council Chambers at 5:20 p.m. and returned at 5:21 p.m.
City Clerk Salazar called on applicant Jack Shively to speak.
The following Councilmember had questions for the applicant:
Nava
The Mayor called for Public Comment. There was no Public Comment.
The Mayor asked the City Clerk to pass out the ballots to each Councilmember and noted that each should vote for two (2) candidates.
The ballots were collected by the City Clerk and turned over to City Attorney Khuu to be tallied.
City Attorney Khuu announced the results as follows:
Councilmember Rabb voted for Dwayne Hammond and Jack Shively Mayor Pro Tem Nava voted for Dwayne Hammond and Jack Shively Councilmember Corona voted for Demetris Campbell and Jack Shively Councilmember Rogers voted for Dwayne Hammond and Jack Shively Mayor Vargas voted for Dwayne Hammond and Jack Shively
Based on the results Mayor Vargas nominated the following two people to the Planning Commission:
Dwayne Hammond (Seat 4) and Jack Shively (Seat 5)
The Mayor called for a motion.

Rita Rogers, seconded by
Marisela Nava to Approve and ratify Mayor Vargas' appointment to the Planning Commission of Jack Shively and Dwayne Hammond to a full 4 year term each.

There being no further business Mayor Vargas adjourned the Regular City Council meeting at 5:32 p.m.
