Item #6: Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Execute Cooperative Funding Agreement No. 51301E1 between the Sonoma County Transportation Authority and the City of Petaluma for the Increase Bus Service, Affordability, and First/Last Mile Connections Program as Part of the Go Sonoma Expenditure Plan
• Question: Item 6 is an opportunity to showcase another action we are doing for climate change: it is a source for bike paths and last mile transit solutions. A simple announcement to plug this for PR to community may help. Can transit manager give a summary of the two actions on item 5 and 6?
o Response: This item (#6) is for the Fare Free component that was included in the GoSonoma Framework when the item was approved by voters in November 2020 and taking place starting inf April 1, 2025. The framework included an allocation of 2% of all GoSonoma funding to be provided to transit operators for use of fare free programs. This allocation amount and its use is determined as part of the GO Sonoma Expenditure Plan in the 23% GoSonoma Transit (GST) category.
Funding for bike paths can be funded under GoSonoma under the Build Bikeways and Pathways (BBP) category and first and final mile programs can be funded under multiple GoSonoma categories including GST, BBP or Move Traffic, Improve Safety.
Staff will be presenting an item to Council at the July 7th meeting asking for input on the project lists that will be submitted on behalf of the City for the GoSonoma Cycle 2 call for projects. Staff will present recommendations and seek input/consensus on the project advanced to SCTA as part of this application cycle. This will be a great opportunity to discuss the projects that the City would like to see prioritized through the next round of funding.

As new GoSonoma funded projects and programs are launched, they will be promoted by the City including the fact that they are funded partially/fully through GoSonoma.
