SUBJECT: Potential Consideration of Changes to the Terms of Current Recreation Commission Members

Staff does not have a recommendation on this matter.
BACKGROUND
At the May 1, 2023 regular City Council meeting, clarification was requested as to whether any discussion of equalizing term lengths on the Recreation Commission occurred at the Special City Council meeting April 4th, when interviews were held and appointments were made to commissions and committees. A review concluded that no such discussion occurred. Staff was also directed to return with a future action item to reconsider the term lengths of appointments.
Attached is a table with the durations of possible service for all Recreation Commission members under the current appointments and a second table showing the results if the terms of Mr. Carter and Ms. Ironside were exchanged.
