SUBJECT: City Council Appointment of Piedmont Beautification Foundation Board of Trustees
RECOMMENDATION
Appoint the Mayor, Vice Mayor and Park Commission Chair as Trustees for the Piedmont Beautification Foundation.
BACKGROUND
Founded in 1964, the Piedmont Beautification Foundation (PBF) supports community improvement projects through tax-deductible contributions. Working in concert with the City of Piedmont, PBF supports the planning, improvement, beautification and maintenance of the community center, parks, streets, schools and other civic oriented pursuits. City Advisory Committee Members that facilitate collaboration include the City Administrator, Public Works Director, Recreation Director and Parks & Project Manager.
The PBF Board of Trustees holds an annual meeting on the second Tuesday of June and generally convenes regular meetings quarterly on the second Tuesday of September, December and March of each year. The Board is comprised of eight members. The Piedmont Garden Club appoints five Trustees; the Piedmont City Council appoints three. In keeping with the City Council appointment process, nominations are advanced by the Mayor and subject to the approval of the Council.
