TO: Mayor and Councilmembers
FROM: Rosanna Bayon Moore, City Administrator
SUBJECT: Study Session Topic - Facilities Renovation Needs Ad Hoc Council Subcommittee

RECOMMENDATION
Receive a report from the Facilities Renovation Subcommittee, explore options for facilities planning and funding and provide staff with direction regarding next steps.

BACKGROUND
On April 17, 2023, the City Council established an ad hoc subcommittee consisting of Mayor Jen Cavenaugh and Council Member Tom Ramsey for a period of six months. The primary focus of the subcommittee is to restart delayed efforts to address aging City facilities by revisiting a prior body of work performed, gathering additional information and identifying next steps for the City Council’s consideration. Research efforts have included reviewing published reports, conducting site visits, interviewing participants in prior site assessments and exploring current projects in the Bay Area.

The subcommittee will share their conclusions and support an interactive exploration of alternatives as the entire Council considers next steps.

FISCAL IMPACT
Undetermined at this time.
