SUBJECT: Designation of Councilmember Conna McCarthy as Voting Delegate and Mayor Jennifer Cavenaugh and Councilmember Jennifer Long as Alternates for the League of California Cities 2024 Annual Conference RECOMMENDATION:
By motion, designate Councilmember Conna McCarthy as the City of Piedmont’s voting delegate, and Mayor Jennifer Cavenaugh and Councilmember Jennifer Long as alternates for the League of California Cities 2024 Annual Conference.
BACKGROUND:
The League of California Cities 2024 Annual Conference is scheduled for October 16-18, 2024.
An important part of the conference is the Annual Conference General Assembly. During the General Assembly, the League membership considers and takes action on resolutions that establish League policy.
To cast a vote during the General Assembly, the City Council must designate a voting delegate and up to two alternate voting delegates, one of whom may vote if the designated voting delegate is unable to serve in that capacity.
