Dear Mayor Anderson and Council,
The Staff Report states: “Overall, the City consistently meets its legal obligations.” I am hopeful this refers to current practice and a change from Piedmont’s historically lax compliance with public record act requests.
I know this from personal experience and for requests by at least two other Piedmont residents. I welcome that the City is now incorporating a contemporary Public Records Act system. This speaks well of current Staff.
Is the online portal NextRequest an AI generated site or have the City records been digitized and filed for rapid dissemination? Will the new system insure the City will determine if it will comply with requests and notify the requester within 10 days and 14 additional days if needed? Respectfully,
