Dear piedmont Council members
I’m writing to encourage you to vote for a new 3 year contract for Oakland library to be used by Piedmont residents.
There are so many reasons to do this, one being the importance for children to learn about borrowing books and magazines from a public library and utilizing all the services and connections this library provides. My young children enjoyed story hours there and look forward to times at the library to borrow books and feel the responsibility of having a library card at a young age. What a joy it is to see a young child huddled on the couch reading or our younger one going through countless early childhood books in a sitting. As an adult, accessing books at the library and online with “Libby” has been invaluable.
