SUBJECT: Consideration of a Resolution Designating Vice Mayor Conna McCarthy as Voting Delegate and Mayor Betsy Smegal Andersen as Alternate for the League of California Cities 2026 Annual Conference
RECOMMENDATION
By motion, designate Vice Mayor Conna McCarthy as Voting Delegate and Mayor Betsy Smegal Andersen as Alternate for the League of California Cities 2026 Annual Conference.
BACKGROUND
The League of California Cities 2026 Annual Conference is scheduled for Sept. 23-25, 2026. An important part of the conference is the Annual Conference General Assembly. During the General Assembly, the League membership considers and takes action on resolutions that establish League policy.
To cast a vote during the General Assembly, the City Council must designate a voting delegate and up to two alternate voting delegates, one of whom may vote if the designated voting delegate is unable to serve in that capacity.
