am resubmitting my application to serve on the Parking Advisory Committee (hereinafter PAC) for a third term. Although I do not live in Pismo Beach, I work part-time at Tastes of the Valleys at 911 Price Street and frequent Pismo Beach, living in nearby Arroyo Grande. I believe have a good understanding of parking habits and the seasonal flow of Pismo Beach. After 4 years of serving on the PAC I am very familiar with the specific issues with parking.
As the former Parking Services Manager for the City of San Luis Obispo, I have specific experience and understanding of the challenges of providing a comprehensive parking program. The challenge is trying to balance the parking demand, while managing access to supply and maintaining an adequate budget. I have worked on all three phases of the process.
I have over 25 years of parking experience. I have served on the Board of Directors and Legislative Committee of the California Public Parking Association which is comprised of over 250 parking professionals within the state. I am also a former lawyer, currently on in-active status with the State Bar.
Being familiar with managing parking within a local government environment, I believe that I can continue to provide my unique perspective on the PAC. I appreciate the chance to serve on the PAC again if you believe my experience and knowledge will assist the City of Pismo Beach.

In his lifetime he has owned and re-modeled 9 homes in two different countries, providing experience and appreciation of the process of planning and building, growing up with a deep love of design, function and art. His passion thrives in the vision and creation of architecture and enjoys listening and collaborating on the ideas of others. Latest project is 990 Bakersfield St in Pismo, Planning Commission approved in November 2021.
Bernard is a full-time resident and home owner in Pismo Beach. He can be found walking the beach and city streets twice a day with his large dog Kona. Bernard attends city functions and has grown his network of local business owners and neighbors over the past 8 years. He is invested in Pismo Beach personally and professionally and by connecting with the people and businesses in his adopted city he has a deep desire to give back. Bernard is pursuing a nomination to the Pismo Beach Planning Commission because he believes this aligns with his knowledge and experience. He is energetic and enthusiastic to be a part of planning for the next 25 years to continue to support its inhabitants, to maintain and expand its beauty, through planned, safe and positive growth. I have been fortunate to serve on the PRBC since 2012.As a retired Recreation Manager with over 30 years in the profession, I feel I bring a unique perspective to the role of a commissioner. I have enjoyed the opportunity to share some of my experience which ranges from program and park development issues,to community events, staffing, budgeting and resource development, etc.
During my time on the Commission, I have been privileged to work in collaboration with a number of dedicated community members toward accomplishing many of the Council's stated goals. I am proud of my part in those successes as well as the impact our collective efforts have had in improving the image ❑f our community and the quality of life here in Pismo Beach. Some of our projects are finally nearing completion and I hope to continue my involvement. Thank you for the opportunity t❑ reapply for a position on The Conference and Visitors Advisory Board.
Having served two terms now I feel that my knowledge has grown and improved with each new year.
It has been a very satisfying experience to participate in recommending new ways for the use of LB1D funds for the benefit of our residents and community.
I'm particularly proud of the work we've done with assisting in the realization of the Pismo Preserve, the ISA/Amp Surf event this last December, and the contributions made towards other lifestyle branding events such as"Wine and Waves" and "Classic California." Although I am a resident of Grover Beach, I have worked in Pismo Beach for the better part of 23 years, managing several restaurants and hotels. I have a deep commitment to this community which i call home ... or,at least, "home adjacent."
I believe I can continue to contribute to the significant work that The CV Advisory Board is doing for the community of Pismo Beach and its residents and visitors by serving another term on the Advisory Board.

I respectfully submit my request to be considered for a reappointment to the Parking Advisory Committee. I have a strong desire to continue to serve the citizens of Pismo Beach and the PAC is a perfect opportunity to do so. In the short time I have been on the PAC I have come to understand how complex the parking issues are in the City., particularly the downtown tourist area. While there are no easy solutions to this problem I believe that things can continue to be improved through vigilant review and a commitment to research and explore successful solutions found in other communities.
Unfortunately, my time on the PAC has been fairly difficult since we have never been able to meet in person. Although we have met on Zoom, I believe we can have better collaboration when we are able to talk to each other in person. I look forward to the opportunity to do that.

Hello Pismo Beach City Council Members!
I would like to thank you for my recent appointment to the Planning Commission. I am honored to serve the community of Pismo Beach and appreciate the faith you have placed in me.
I would also like to confirm my desire to continue serving on the Planning Commission for another term. As a Shell Beach homeowner, continuing to support the appropriate and responsible development of our community is personally relevant to me. I recognize the importance of the decisions that lie ahead. Not only will we be assessing future projects as they come on-line, but we will also participate in updating the General Plan for our community.
As a recent appointment, I bring a unique viewpoint to the Planning Commission informed by my perspective as a mother of elementary age children who attend school in our community. Families in Pismo Beach represent a large and growing demographic within our City yet may not be as well represented by other commissioners. I believe including individuals with varied backgrounds and experiences will aid the next Planning Commission in making decisions that more broadly reflect the views of the entirety of the Pismo Beach Community.
I am excited at the prospect of continuing to participate on the Planning Commission and look forward to working together to ensure the City of Pismo Beach remains a beautiful and inviting classic California beach town.
