Dear Mayor & Council,
I am resubmitting my application to serve on the Parking Advisory Committee (hereinafter PAC) for a third term. Although I do not live in Pismo Beach, I work part-time at Tastes of the Valleys at 911 Price Street and frequent Pismo Beach, living in nearby Arroyo Grande. I believe I have a good understanding of parking habits and the seasonal flow of Pismo Beach. After 4 years of serving on the PAC I am very familiar with the specific issues with parking.
As the former Parking Services Manager for the City of San Luis Obispo, I have specific experience and understanding of the challenges of providing a comprehensive parking program. The challenge is trying to balance the parking demand, while managing access to supply and maintaining an adequate budget. I have worked on all three phases of the process.
I have over 25 years of parking experience. I have served on the Board of Directors and Legislative Committee of the California Public Parking Association which is comprised of over 250 parking professionals within the state. I am also a former lawyer, currently on in-active status with the State Bar.
Being familiar with managing parking within a local government environment, I believe that I can continue to provide my unique perspective on the PAC. I appreciate the chance to serve on the PAC again if you believe my experience and knowledge will assist the City of Pismo Beach.
