SUBJECT/TITLE:
REMOVE CENSURE OF COUNCIL MEMBER MARCIA GUTHRIE
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve a motion to remove the censure of Council Member Marcia Guthrie and other restrictions and restore her Committee Assignments.
BACKGROUND:
The City Council censured Council Member Guthrie one year ago (February 16, 2021) for a Brown Act violation which resulted in the loss of her committee assignments along with the imposition of various restrictions.
Conclusion and Recommendation by the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem recommend that the Council by motion remove the censure and other restrictions and restore her committee assignments.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with ending the censure.
ALTERNATIVES:
1.The Council could modify the given recommendations or take no action.
