A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH,
CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BEK COLLECTIVE IN THE AMOUNT OF $81,590 FOR THE DESIGN OF THE JAMES WAY BEAUTIFICATION
PROJECT
WHEREAS, one of the City Council's priorities is to implement community beautification strategies, including the James Way Beautification plan; and WHEREAS, after soliciting public input at a workshop and receiving Council input, a landscape architect (LA) was retained to develop a conceptual plan for removing all of the concrete between the existing fence line and sidewalk, and to turn that area into a planter which was flush with the sidewalk on the ocean side of the street only; and WHEREAS, Council directed staff to pursue the James Way Beautification Project landscaping option that includes Evergreen Pear trees, Jade plants, Myers Asparagus, and Blue Chalk Sticks as presented in the renderings; and WHEREAS, staff issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for professional consulting services for the design of the James Way Beautification project; and WHEREAS, five proposals were received and evaluated by a review panel; and WHEREAS, BEK Collective was selected to perform the work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with BEK Collective in the amount of $81,590 for the design of the James Way Beautification project (scope and cost provided as Exhibit A).
UPON MOTION OF Council Member Guthrie, seconded by Council Member Blake, the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach this 17tn day of May 2022, by the following vote:

James Way Beautification
FEE PROPOSAL
The following fee schedule includes professional
service fees based on the Scope of Services
outlined in separate document. Per request of the
City, hourly breakdown by task is provided in the
following page.
Our fixed fees will be billed monthly on an
accounting of hours and a time and materials basis,
not to exceed the amount of $81,590. Should we
reach this amount, approval, in advance, must be
given by Client for additional fees.
