SUBJECT/TITLE:
NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE PISMO BEACH STORM DRAIN PROJECT RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the City Manager to sign, and the City Clerk to record, a Notice of Completion for the Pismo Beach Storm Drain Project.
BACKGROUND:
On July 20, 2021, the City Council awarded a contract to AAAA Engineering Contracting, Inc. for the Pismo Beach Storm Drain Project. The project addressed damaged infrastructure and runoff issues at three locations: Reef Court, Encanto Avenue, and Windward Avenue. Work at each location included the following:
1. Reef Court: Installed a new storm drain inlet and pipeline to connect the new inlet to an existing inlet/outfall.
2. Encanto Avenue: Repaired the existing storm drain inlet and outfall.
3. Windward Avenue: Installed three new storm drain inlets, replaced one existing storm drain inlet, installed four new storm drain manholes, and installed necessary pipeline and connection to an existing outfall.
The project also included the paving of the public parking lot on Leeward Avenue.
Conclusion and Recommendation
AAAA Engineering Contracting, Inc. has completed the contracted services and the Pismo Beach Storm Drain project has been completed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contract documents. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the project as complete and authorize the Notice of Completion (Attachment 1) to be recorded at the County Clerk’s office.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this action.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Since AAAA Engineering Contracting, Inc. has completed its contractual obligations, the only option recommended is for City Council to approve the Notice of Completion.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION AND ACCEPTANCE
FOR THE PISMO BEACH STORM DRAIN PROJECT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the City of Pismo Beach in the County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, as follows:
1. That on the 7th of June 2022, the project hereunder described was considered completed and accepted by the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach.
2. That the description of said project is the Pismo Beach Storm Drain Project for the City of Pismo Beach.
3. That the name of the political subdivision controlling said project is the City of Pismo Beach, in the County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, whose address is 760 Mattie Road, Pismo Beach, CA 93449.
4. That the name of the contractor on said project is AAAA Engineering Contracting, Inc., 2726 Poco Road, Templeton, CA 93465.
5. The name of the Surety of the project is Contractors Bonding and Insurance Company, 111 Pacifica, Suite 350, Irvine, CA 92618.
