A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH,
CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH OLIN CORPORATION, DBA OLIN CHLOR ALKALI PRODUCTS AND VINYLS (OLIN CORP) IN THE AMOUNT OF $2.083 PER GALLON, NOT TO EXCEED $103,109.00 IN FISCAL YEAR 2023, TO PROVIDE SODIUM
HYPOCHLORITE FOR THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT, AND APPROPRIATING
RELATED BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS
WHEREAS, Sodium Hypochlorite (NaCIO) is used in the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant as a source of chlorine for disinfectant as part of the treatment process; and WHEREAS, the current contract for the supply of sodium hypochlorite will expire on June 30, 2022; and
WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals (RFP) was advertised and a total of three proposals were received on May 12, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the proposals were reviewed through a competitive process by a panel of City staff and the lowest -cost proposal, from Olin Corporation, dba Olin Chlor Alkali Products (Olin Corporation), has been selected to provide Sodium Hypochlorite.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Olin Corporation in the amount of $2.083 per gallon, not to exceed $103,109.00 in Fiscal Year 2023, to provide the supply of Sodium Hypochlorite for the Wastewater Treatment Plant in the City of Pismo Beach (Exhibit A).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby appropriates $38,109 in the Wastewater Enterprise Fund, Wastewater Operations Activity, Chlorine account in FY 2023, using available Wastewater Enterprise Fund net position (available fund balance).
UPON MOTION OF Mayor Pro Tem Reiss, seconded by Council Member Blake, the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach this 7th day of June 2022, by the following vote:
