To the City Council,
In regards to the short term rental enforcement issue, verification of your regulations is the main issue with the proposed STR on our block at 125 N Silver Shoals Drive.
No matter what documentation was submitted to the city- it’s common knowledge on our block that this property is NOT Babe Franey’s primary residence. The (illegal?) renters that have been there so far certainly haven’t adhered to the parking rules to use only use driveway and garage.
The amount of resources-city staff and police - will be huge to enforce these regulations properly and fairly. We don’t feel this is wise use of taxpayer dollars when the negatives out weigh the positives with this issue.
We think Monterey has the right idea with NO STR’S.
In closing a reminder that this neighborhood is NOT zoned for hotels, which is essentially what STR’S are. Our neighborhood is united on this issue and will continue to fight to keep our block as is was when we all fell in with this area and moved here.
Thank you for your review of the regulations at this time, it is imperative to get it right for the long term good of our neighborhoods .
