In response to your letter dated July 1, 2022 regarding the weed abatement work done on the above reference parcel, I would like to protest the charge of $1,700.00 and propose a reduced amount between $400.00-$500.00.
As a Real Estate developer and owner of hotels, the $1,700 charge is an excessive amount to clear out weeds. In addition, we did not receive notice indicating that work needed to be completed. As it appears, the only notice that we received regarding a potential hazard on the vacant land was the letter dated July 1, 2022, after the weed abatement had been completed. Had we been informed we would have voluntarily met the requirements of abatement.
We will continue to make every effort to meet the requirements and cooperate in the fire prevention program within the community. We look forward to hearing from you and coming to a mutual agreement regarding this matter. Please feel free to contact me directly at (949) 394-1293. i,4

Our 2022 Weed Abatement Program has been completed. The charge for the abatement work done on your property is $1,700.00. This amount will be turned in to the San Luis Obispo County auditor's office and will be placed on your property tax bill. You will pay this amount when you pay your property taxes.
We do not accept payments at this office.
There will be a Public Hearing regarding weed abatement charges held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, no earlier than 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 760 Mattie Road, Pismo Beach, CA. At this time, you may voice your protests concerning weed abatement charges to the City Council. If you are unable to attend, written comments may be forwarded to the City Clerk's Office, City of Pismo Beach, 760 Mattie Road, Pismo Beach, CA, 93449.
