TO: Pismo Beach City Council
RE: Grant Request
On behalf of the Pismo Beach Chamber of Commerce, we would like to request consideration of a grant allocation in the amount of $20,000 for the fiscal 2022-2023 budget year.

The Pismo Beach Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer run Chamber promoting our unique beach communities and helping to create an engaging community for our residents. Celebrating our 100th year in 2022, the Chamber works tirelessly on behalf of our business community, our residents and as a partner to the City of Pismo Beach.

Our grant request would help provide funding for the following areas:
2022-2023 Farmers Market – Requested $12,000
in 2021 the Pismo Beach Chamber reintroduced the Pismo Beach Farmers Market. This market runs every Wednesday starting at the end of March and running through the end of October.

The weekly market has been expanded to a variety of vendors and live music. In 2022 we added the support of a Market Manager to help run the market and solicit new vendors. This market is being run by a local company who specialized in local farmers markets.

The moneys requested would go to help offset the cost of the Market Manager and to help cover the cost of the weekly live musical performers.

Leadership Circle Sponsorship – Requested $5,000 Sponsorship level The Chamber is seeking a partnership with the City as part of our Leadership Circle Sponsorship program. Through this program we partner with the City of Pismo Beach to help further the City’s goals, promote the City as a leading partner with the Chamber and help facilitate communications with our business community and residents. The recommended level would include:
• Banner Logo/link on every monthly email newsletter and on Pismo Chamber website. $5,000 value
• Full member website login upgrade access, $500 value
• Sponsor table at the annual Taste of Pismo, $1,250 value • Four tickets to 2 wine walks, $280 value
• Email blast & Facebook business spotlight every quarter, $1,600 value • Mention and logo present at every monthly Mixer, quarterly Mayor's Luncheon and Installation Dinner, and other events $1,000
• Free booth at expos, Farmers Markets or other booth events, $100 value

Classic California Christmas -Requested $3,000
Classic California Christmas is a month-long campaign developed by the Chamber to promote Pismo Beach as a place for families to create their holiday memories. One of the highlights of this month-long campaign is our Surfboard Decorating Contest. This contest has grown year over year with uniquely decorated surfboards found throughout our city. Our goal is to make our surfboards as well-known as the Cambria Scarecrows, making Pismo Beach the place to be for holiday cheer.

In addition to our Surfboard Decorating contest we are planning:
- Deal of the Day
- Surfing Santa Contest
- Ugly Sweater Wine Walk & Shopping night
Each of these events are designed to promote local businesses and highlight Pismo Beach as the place for tourists to create their holiday memories.

We are seeking a grant of $3,000 to help with the cost of materials for the surfboards and supplies for the month long campaign.

How will these funds benefit the City of Pismo Beach?
The Pismo Beach Chamber strives to be a valuable partner to the City in developing programs that will help our business community thrive, engage our residents, and promote the Pismo Beach Experience to attract tourism.

These programs benefit the City in a multitude of ways.

Provides valuable revenue generating opportunities to local vendors to help strengthen our business community. . Promotes Pismo Beach with a small beach town feel.

Visitors love connecting with local artisans and supporting local businesses.

2. The Leadership Sponsorship helps to support the Chamber to meet our goals on behalf of our membership and community. This identifies you as a strong supporter of your local Chamber.

This allows the Chamber to promote the City, your events, and areas of community outreach.

3. Classic California Christmas helps to drive tourism into Pismo Beach during our slow season. This benefits the City through TOT revenue and increased business sales. This event also engages our residents, enhancing the Pismo Beach lifestyle and making our beach town a holiday treasure.

Fiscal Goals: How we help you enhance Community Character and Quality of Life for our Residents.

Each of these events provide an engaging experience for our residents. By enhancing our Pismo Beach Experience, we benefit our residents with a vibrant and engaging downtown business community for
