RESOLUTION NO. R-2022-089
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH,
CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF TWO ADDITIONAL
MAINTENANCE WORKER I POSITIONS AND THE PURCHASE OF AN ELECTRIC
UTILITY TRUCK, AND APPROPRIATING RELATED BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS IN FISCAL YEAR 2023
WHEREAS, one of the City Council's top goals is to "build on the strength of our local community to preserve the City's `Classic California' charm and ensure an exceptional quality of life for residents"; and
WHEREAS, to meet the expectations of the community, staff recommends that the City Council add two Maintenance Worker I positions to the Public Works Department, one of which would operate as a full-time trash operator and the other as full-time landscape technician; and
WHEREAS, to assist the trash operator, staff recommends the purchase of a small electric utility truck capable of maneuvering through the busy downtown traffic to haul the trash bags back to the corporation yard for disposal; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the utilization of Fiscal Year FY 2023 General Fund "Next - Level" funds to fund the Community Cleanliness Plan for the two Maintenance Worker I positions and the electric utility truck.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby authorizes the creation of two additional Maintenance Worker I positions in the General Fund Public Works Department Facilities Division Streets Activity.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby authorizes the purchase of an electric utility truck at a cost of approximately $40,000 in FY 2023.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby appropriates the following budget adjustments in FY 2023:
• Transfer $210,000 of the FY 2023 General Fund Budget Non -Department Next Level Fund for contract services to the General Fund Public Works Department Facilities Division Streets Activity.
• Appropriate $115,000 in salaries and $95,000 in various benefits in the FY 2023 General Fund Budget Public Works Department Facilities Division Streets Activity, • Transfer $40,000 of the FY 2023 General Fund Budget Non -Department Next Level Fund for contract services to the Motor Vehicle Replacement Fund, Motor Vehicle Replacement Activity.

• Appropriate $40,000 of the Motor Vehicle Replacement Fund, Motor Vehicle Replacement Activity, Capital Outlay -Automotive account to support the Electric Utility Truck purchase in FY 2023.
• Appropriate any related transfers between funds.
UPON MOTION OF Council Member Newton, seconded by Council Member Guthrie, the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach this 4th day of October 2022, by the following vote:
