Hello Mayor Waage, Mayor Pro Tempore Reiss, and Council Members Blake, Newton and Guthrie:

I have reviewed the five options for the Pier Stairs and other potential locations for Stairs in the area of Margo Dodd Park.

All of these options will cost the City quite a bit of money. I respect the analysis of City Staff in review of these options. There needs to be a solution. However, before the City decides to spend between $430,000 to $5.2 Million on the removal of old stairs and the installation of a new staircase or staircases, I believe it would behoove the City to seek a partnership with the Army Corp of Engineers and/or other partnerships before the Council decides which option/options to move forward with. In this way, the City can hopefully locate funding for part or all of these options. Additionally, there may be grants available to pay for the cost of any of these options prior to a decision as well.

Thank you for your work on this.

Very truly yours,
Stacy L. Inman
