Subject:Item 9F Traffic and Safety Recommendation
External Email
Dear Council,

Thank you to Council Woman, Mary Ann Reiss for your quick response and to City Manager, Jim Lewis and the committee for addressing this safety concern so quickly.

Please approve the recommendation of the Traffic and Safety Committee regarding the shared use path on Shell Beach Road.  Enough incidents have already occurred because of bikes, especially E bikes, speeding on the path as pedestrians try to stroll side by side or with dogs and families.  Moreover, "On your left" or bicycle warning bells are frequently not heard due to highway noise or/and often the hearing ability of the many  seniors who walk the path.  Please approve to make the path safer for all.  The signs are a good start.

The number of signs seems appropriate to the members of the Protect Shell Beach group.  We would not agree that they would  contribute to "Blight".  Safety first.

Thank you,
Members of Protect Shell Beach
