A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 210 PARKING METERS, THE
ASSOCIATED HARDWARE, AND HOUSINGS FROM IPS GROUP FOR THE AMOUNT OF $255,911.00 IN FISCAL YEAR 2023 AND APPROPRIATING RELATED
BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Parking budget includes $255,911 for the purchase of new parking meters as the paid parking area expands to extend along Price Street; and
WHEREAS, over two hundred parking meters will be affixed along Price Street in curbside parking spaces and diagonal spaces adjacent to the newly -constructed center median, in accordance with the Price Street Paving Project plan; and WHEREAS, parking meters are a vital tool for the Parking Division for the collection of parking revenue and to ensure the regular flow of vehicles in the paid parking areas; and WHEREAS, in order to realize significant operational benefits, staff recommends the procurement of parking meters identical to the existing parking meters installed in the downtown area, and this purchase is therefore being recommended as a "sole source" purchase since the City is adding to a product compatible with the City's equipment and this product is available from only one vendor, with whom the City has a current relationship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby authorizes the purchase of 210 parking meters, the associated hardware, and housings from IPS Group for the amount of $255,911 (quote provided as Exhibit A).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby appropriates $256,000 in the Parking Enterprise Fund capital outlay machinery and equipment in Fiscal Year 2023, supported by Parking Enterprise Fund net position (available fund balance).
UPON MOTION OF Council Member Guthrie, seconded by Council Member Newton, the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach this 1711 day of January 2023, by the following vote:
