RESOLUTION NO. R-2023-006
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE 2023 F250 SUPER DUTY TRUCK FROM NATIONAL AUTO FLEET GROUP IN THE AMOUNT OF $55,806.90, ACCEPTING $17,999 IN FUTURE GRANT REVENUES IN FISCAL YEAR 2024 TO
REIMBURSE THE MOTOR VEHICLE FUND, AND APPROPRIATING RELATED BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS IN FISCAL YEARS 2023 AND 2024
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Motor Vehicle Replacement (MVR) Fund budget includes $64,000 for the replacement of the Fire Department's Lifeguard Truck LG061 including additional equipment necessary to place the vehicle into service; and WHEREAS, due to the harsh conditions the lifeguard truck operates in, staff is recommending that the current backup lifeguard truck, FDU63, be used to replace LG061 and a new vehicle is purchased to replace FDU63; and
WHEREAS, due to current production challenges for Ford Super Duty trucks, orders for model year 2023 are based upon allocations issued to fleet customers nationwide, and as a result, the City has received an allocation of one Super Duty truck through the State's contract with National Auto Fleet Group through Sourcewell; and WHEREAS, the City's Lifeguard Program has applied for an OHV grant in the amount of $17,999 for replacement of the Lifeguard Truck, which the San Luis Obispo County Parks Commission recommended that the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors approve, and which is expected to be available July 1, 2023 if approved by the Board of Supervisors; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby authorizes the cooperative purchase of one 2023 F250 Super Duty truck from National Auto Fleet Group through the State's Sourcewell contract, in the amount of $55,806.90 (Exhibit A).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby accepts $17,999 in future grant revenues should they be granted to the City, to partially reimburse the MVR Fund for this purchase.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby appropriates $17,999 in future grant revenues to partially reimburse the MVR Fund for this purchase in FY 2024 in the MVR Fund and appropriates $16,810 in capital outlay - automotive expenditures in the MVR Fund in FY 2023.
