Strategies
Community Partnership
Existing School
F&H’s goal to ensure that we
have measures in place to
eliminate chances of neighbor
disruption.
At the beginning of the project,
we will:
•Local outreach to abutting
residences, schools and the
neighborhood. Providing contact
information for F&H as first point
of contact.
•Gather neighborhood contact
information to keep all well
informed of activities regularly.
•On-site meet & greet with local
neighbors to establish
relationships with residents.
•Drone documentation at the
beginning of the project and bi-
monthly to document existing
conditions.
•Post work hours and notify of any
major activities.
•Provide access for traffic and
determine best delivery routes.

construction activities.
Special attention to be given to
noise, traffic and dust from
construction activities.
Existing Pre-School
Meet with each school prior to the
start of construction to outline
construction procedures, schedules
and mitigation measures.
Noise
•Will follow noise ordinance
for area.
•Will notify the community
in advance when there will
be heavy equipment/loud
noise.
Construction traffic
•Will provide traffic control
flaggers, as necessary.
•Will coordinate deliveries to
not impede on school drop
off and pick up times.

Site Logistics
•Multiple off site storage and lay
down areas are available to F&H
Construction and will be used as
needed throughout construction
to minimize neighborhood
disruption.
•Church Parking Lot; F&H
Laydown/staging area: extents to
be coordinated with City and
Church.
•Concrete Washout: Phased and
relocated as needed during
construction.
•Misc. on-site storage units.
•Perimeter Security fencing.
•Construction Entrance with
stormwater and dirt mitigation to
maintain neighborhood. Phased
as needed during construction.
•Limits of Construction Traffic.Existing Pre-School

Why Demo existing Fire
Station Apparatus Bay and
internal walls instead of
infill?
•Existing structure was single
wythe CMU with limited
reinforcing. Maintaining
would require significant
structural upgrades
•Allows for a longer
Apparatus Bay apron for
vehicles reducing gradient to
street
•Right sizes internal spaces
based upon programmatic
need.
•Eliminates internal ramps
and stairs
•Places day room as direct
adjacency to Apparatus bays
•Reduction in Response
Time!
