RESOLUTION NO. R-2023-024
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE REPLACEMENT 2023 LOAD AND PACK VEHICLE FROM BROYHILL INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $261,239 IN FISCAL YEAR 2023
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Motor Vehicle Replacement Fund budget includes $265,000 for a Broyhill 2023 Load and Pack with Self -Dumping Box replacement for the Public Works Load and Pack vehicle, PWLP2014; and
WHEREAS, the Load and Pack is an essential piece of equipment needed for the Public Works Department to keep the city and beach clean; and
WHEREAS, Broyhill is the only manufacturer of this specific type of four-wheel drive trash collection system, and does not provide leasing and does not currently have any refurbished options available, and
WHEREAS, the Load and Pack is a build -to -order piece of equipment and Broyhill has quoted between 60-120 days to build the machine plus 1-2 weeks for shipping.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby authorizes the purchase of one replacement 2023 Load and Pack with Self - Dumping Box from Broyhill, Inc. in the amount of $261,239 in Fiscal Year 2023 (quote provided as Exhibit A).
UPON MOTION OF Council Member Newton, seconded by Council Member Guthrie, the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach this 41' day of April 2023, by the following vote:

Delivery could be up to 120+ Days after receipt of order. Price reflects Diesel Tier 4 Final EPA Mandates. Load and Pack instruction for the drivers and the mechanics will be held at the time of delivery, only. Late supply chain pricing has not been passed on to the buyer.
Improvements include: new 74 hp Deutz diesel performance - Tier 4 Final engine, 4 video cameras,12-volt cab accessory power, cab fan, In cab air ride control and more.
Chassis frame and articulation units are hot dipped galvanized to minimize corrosion from salt and sand. Hot Dip chassis and articulation joint cost.
All State taxes and fees must be paid directly to the State of California.
