Subject:Proposed Dog Park at Spyglass Park - Not viable due to City filed Noise Code 6.20.010 Date:Tuesday, May 16, 2023 8:09:10 AM

Good morning, City Council Members,
Please see the listed filed Pismo Beach City codes regarding Unnecessary noise in any neighborhood. This listed code will be violated continuously if a substandard sized dog park is placed too close to living residences within Spyglass Park. The code listed below eliminates Spyglass Park as an appropriate location for a dog park. 20 feet from any home will not be enough distance to not only keep the noise from dogs barking and howling from disturbing the peace at the houses and condos that will be 20 feet from the park, you must also consider the noise of the metal gates slamming shut, and most especially dog owners screaming and yelling at each other when their dogs get into fights within the dog park that is too small. That noise will disturb the peace and comfort of the neighborhood 20 feet from the proposed dog park at Spyglass Park. You must relocate the location of the dog park you would like to build to a location where it can be placed far enough away from living residences so the City Code is not violated and the dog park can be built to an adequate size with separate areas for both small and large dogs to eliminate dog fights which will also increase noise levels tremendously.

Thank you very much,
Paul and Christie Wellenkamp
