First, I want to thank the City of Pismo Beach for addressing the safety risks associated with the intersection of Bello Street and Price Canyon Road. Although I live in San Luis Obispo, I bicycle through this intersection at least once a week on a popular route affectionately known as the "Pismo Loop."
I strongly support the comments from Jim DeCecco asking you to direct your consultants to add improvements to meet the needs of all users, including bicyclists and pedestrians, who deserve to feel safe in this intersection. All options are primarily designed for the convenience of motorists, with painted symbols to acknowledge the presence of bicyclists and pedestrians but not to protect them.

I strongly encourage each of you to bicycle and walk through this intersection, including during rush hours and holiday weekends, to experience the real fear of speeding, distracted and impatient motorists, including those driving humongous SUVs and pulling trailers. This intersection should be designed so children bicycling or walking to school or elsewhere are protected.

By the way, I usually ride the Pismo Loop from San Luis Obispo counterclockwise to avoid making a left turn from Bello Street onto Price Canyon Road.
