RESOLUTION NO. R-2023-056
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH,
CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO REPLACEMENT POLICE DEPARTMENT PATROL VEHICLES IN THE AMOUNT OF $110,650.79 IN FISCAL YEAR 2024
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2024 budget includes $130,000 for two 2023 Ford F-150 4- door 4x4 vehicles, as replacements for current Dodge Charger patrol vehicles PD201 and PD211; and
WHEREAS, these vehicles are essential to the Police Department for patrolling the City, and the new 4x4 vehicles will allow patrol officers to respond to calls on the beach; and WHEREAS, these were found under the State of California's Department of General Services contract 1-19-23-30 with National Auto Fleet Group, and therefore qualify as piggyback purchases under the City's Purchasing Policy; and WHEREAS, the City's Motor Vehicle Replacement Fund budget includes $130,000 for the replacement of both of these vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the two vehicles, including tax is $110,650.79 and the remaining budgeted funds will be used to outfit the vehicles with the necessary equipment, electronics, decals, etc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby authorizes the purchase of two replacement Police Department patrol vehicles in the amount of $110,650.79 (quote provided as Exhibit A) in Fiscal Year 2024.
UPON MOTION OF Council Member Guthrie, seconded by Council Member Inman, the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach this 18' day of July 2023, by the following vote:
