RESOLUTION NO. R-2023-071
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH,
CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE REPLACEMENT POLICE DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATION VEHICLE IN THE AMOUNT OF $70,916.62 AND APPROPRIATING RELATED BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS IN FISCAL YEAR 2024 WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Motor Vehicle Replacement (MVR) Fund budget includes $65,000 for one 2024 Ford Expedition 44 vehicle, as replacement for a current Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4 Administration vehicle, PD165; and
WHEREAS, this vehicle is essential to the Police Department for Administrative services and will be utilized by the Police Chief to monitor local policing activities; and WHEREAS, staff was able to find a 2024 Ford Expedition XLT 44 vehicle under the National Auto Fleet Group cooperative government purchasing agreement #091521-NAF in the amount of $70,916.62; and
WHEREAS, staff estimates that parts and labor for modifications to fit the Police Department's needs will cost $3,500.00, resulting in a total vehicle cost of $74,416.62; With the total estimated cost of the vehicle compared to the current budget, staff projects a budget shortfall of $9,416.62.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby authorizes the purchase of one replacement Police Department Administration vehicle in the amount of $70,916.62 in Fiscal Year 2024 (Exhibit A).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby appropriates $9,416.62 in the MVR Fund Capital Outlay -Automotive account for Police replacing vehicle PD165 from the MVR Fund net income (available fund balance) to support the additional estimated cost of the vehicle in FY 2024.
