A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH, CALIFORNIA ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $63,252 FROM
THE DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL, AND
APPROPRIATING $63,252 IN GRANT REVENUES AND $63,252 IN VARIOUS
EXPENDITURES IN THE GENERAL FUND POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET IN FISCAL YEAR 2024
WHEREAS, the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control strives to provide the highest level of service and public safety to the people of California by making available grants to local and state public agencies for programs that help enforce regulations, educate law enforcement officers, businesses, and community members to reduce alcoholic beverage sales violations and eliminate disorderly premises; and WHEREAS, each year, ABC requests applications from more than 3,000 eligible law enforcement agencies outlining the opportunity to participate in the Alcohol Policing Partnership Program and the requirements to compete for available funds; and WHEREAS, the Pismo Beach Police Department applied for one of these grants and has been awarded the amount of $63,252; and
WHEREAS, this funding will allow for additional proactive enforcement of alcohol -related sales violations and disorderly premises, and provide community outreach and education to reduce alcohol -related incidents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby accepts the grant funds in the amount of $63,252 from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to support the Alcohol Policing Partnership Program as outlined in the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby appropriates $63,252 in State government grant revenues in the General Fund Police Department budget and $63,252 of expenditures (overtime, benefits, and training) in the General Fund Police Department budget in Fiscal Year 2024.
UPON MOTION OF Council Member Guthrie, seconded by Council Member Newton, the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach this 171h day of October 2023, by the following vote:
