The original proposal for this project included an EV charging station that seems to have disappeared from the latest iteration. The adoption of EVs is increasing at an exponential rate while high speed charging infrastructure is lagging behind. A CCS (non Tesla) station at Spyglass Road would relieve the pressure on the one at 5 Cities Drive where there is always a line. Electrify America would probably partner.

Also, it is my observation that the merge at the end of the truck climbing lane is the primary cause of the traffic congestion. The congestion is exacerbated by the fact that many drivers do not accelerate when they start up the hill causing the flow to slow and spread into the truck climbing lane and then slow further at the merge when the lane ends. The option that converts the truck climbing into a general purpose lane and continues the three lanes as far south as possible (5 Cities Drive) would be optimal. The increased availability and adoption of adaptive cruise control will help to alleviate the slowing on the hill between Avila Beach Road and Spyglass.
