A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH,
CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH DIVERSIFIED PROJECT SERVICES INTERNATIONAL IN THE AMOUNT OF $166,375 FOR ENGINEERING
DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE BELLO STREET AND WADSWORTH AVENUE
WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT, AND APPROPRIATING RELATED BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS IN FISCAL YEAR 2024
WHEREAS, the City of Pismo Beach Water Master Plan includes the need to replace waterlines throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, the Bello Street and Wadsworth Avenue Water Main Replacement project will abandon the existing six-inch line through Judkins Middle School and reroute along Bello Street and up Wadsworth Avenue; and
WHEREAS, this water line has been flagged as a top priority project due to its recurring leaks, potential age-related issues, and location along easements that hinder access for repair efforts; and
WHEREAS, staff has determined that the water line should be replaced prior to when the paving of Wadsworth Avenue is completed and the construction of the Public Safety Facility begins; and
WHEREAS, an RFP for engineering design services was advertised and the proposal from Diversified Project Services International was evaluated and selected by a review panel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with Diversified Project Services International in the amount of $166,375 for engineering design services for the Bello Street and Wadsworth Avenue Water Main Replacement project (scope provided as Exhibit A).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby de-appropriates $166,375 from the Charles and Bello Streets Reservoir project and appropriate $166,375 in a new Bello Street and Wadsworth Avenue Water Main Replacement project in the Water Construction Fund, including appropriating any related transfers between funds, in Fiscal Year 2024.
