RE: Sea Haven Apartments CPLHA Funding Application Gratitude & Support
Dear Esteemed Council Members,
As representatives of the residents at Sea Haven Apartments, we extend our heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering commitment to our community’s well-being. Your tireless efforts in addressing housing challenges have not gone unnoticed, and we commend you for championing initiatives that directly impact the lives of our fellow residents.
Every allocation of funding for housing programs represents a critical milestone in our collective pursuit of housing equity and affordability. As an organization deeply invested in creating safe and stable homes for all, we wish to emphasize the significance of the Housing and Community Development funding opportunity known as the Competitive Permanent Local Housing Allocation (CPLHA) Program. The CPLHA program can allocate up to five million dollars for the rehabilitation of Sea Haven Apartments located at 211-251 Addie Street in Pismo Beach. This includes much needed exterior and interior upgrades to the property. This funding program will also:
1. Maintain Housing Supply for Low-Income Households: The allocated funds will play a pivotal role in maintaining the housing supply for households at or below 60% of the area median income.
Specifically, we plan to rehabilitate the Sea Haven Apartments project to provide continued access to high-quality affordable housing.
2. Meet Regional Housing Needs: Our local government’s commitment to meeting its share of regional housing needs allocation is vital. Half the battle is keeping affordable units affordable in the long-term. By actively participating in regional efforts, we contribute to a more balanced and sustainable housing landscape and continue to collaborate with neighboring jurisdictions to address broader housing challenges.
3. Ensure Geographic Equity: We appreciate your focus on ensuring geographic equity in the distribution of funds. Every neighborhood deserves equal access to housing resources.
In closing, we express our deepest gratitude for your leadership and support of this funding application for our Sea Haven Apartments project. Together, we can build a future where every resident has a place to call home without fear of losing their home—a future that reflects our shared values of compassion,
