To:City Hall of Pismo Beach,City Clerk's Office:

I wish to request that this letter be presented at the City Council's closed session February 18,stating my concerns as follows:

Please save our beloved Chapman Estate from blocked public access and preservation as a historic landmark.

Our Five Cities Newcomers Garden Group enjoys touring the Estate gardens each year, especially in the spring when the glorious begonias are blooming, and hearing about the history of the Chapman Estate from one of the docent volunteers.I personally enjoy being able to photograph the dramatic views surrounding the Estate during our tours.

The Chapman Estate is a community landmark that should remain open for the public's enjoyment.

The Central Coast has only a few historic landmarks that remain for the public's enjoyment.

Transferring management to the Chapman Estate Foundation benefits the community.

The Estate aligns with Pismo Beach's goals of preserving coastal access, enhancing tourism and investing in community spaces.

Pismo Beach's assessment of the Chapman Estate back in 2013 recognized the Estate's significance and recommended it's preservation. What has changed?
Please tell me why the City is considering closing the Estate to the public? Thank you.

Respectfully,
Kathleen Flores
