Please transfer your interest in the Chapman Estate to the Chapman Estate Foundation. This beautiful landmark should NOT be destroyed or removed. Much renovation work has been done in the past few years to restore, preserve, and maintain this estate for residents and tourists to enjoy. It has been updated so as to be ADA compliant, thus allowing more of the public to enjoy tours and events there. The Michener family has owned a house on nearby Palomar St. since the 1960s &we are now in the 5th generation of family who love the Chapman Estate. We walk to it daily& show it off to all our visitors. It's an exquisite part of the landscape and historically interesting & important.
Please preserve this marvelous Shell Beach legacy by allowing the Chapman Estate Foundation to take over its care if the City no longer will.
